BUGS!

Last night we had a couple of encounters with kick ass insects...

This guy was going nuts on the porch and i managed to grab him in a cup and snap a shot!

Then this little gaffer flew up and started spazzing, so i got him to sit still for a minute and snapped a shot!

Pretty sure this is a Cicada

Today we had our first real rain of the trip........Koda found it amusing....a little startled by the sound of it on the tin roof....and everytime there was any thunder he ran for the hills!

Just another day!!

Today we had the first rain of our trip, short and sweet. We spent some time pruning the starfruit tree and building a dam at the river to enlarge our swimming hole. I tell ya, so much work!!! argggggg

We've arrived!

Hello everybody!

We have arrived safely and happily to the farm in Quizarra.  We had a nice drive yesterday through San Jose, and then over the "mountain of death."  We stopped briefly in San Isidro to pick up some groceries and fruit, and then headed out to the farm.  Poppy, Charco, Pinto, and Fraidy Cat came to meet us as soon we pulled in.  We made a delicious dinner of rice and beans, and yummy home made tortillas.  Koda is getting along well with the dogs, but seems to be staying a bit on the sidelines.  We are having to get used to Koda being outside all the time, and not on our laps.  He whines a bit at the door, and I whine a bit from inside, but we'll have to work through it!  Eventually he'll realize that outside is WAY better.

The cicadas wail away in the jungle 24 hours a day, and the birds are up before us.  Way before us.  Isaac is finishing the last of his coffee, and we're off for a walk with the dogs.
